Astrid Lindgren Award For Children's Book Illustrations Goes To Kitty Crowther (The Huffington Post)
What's Your Reaction? STOCKHOLM — Belgian illustrator and author Kitty Crowther won the 2010 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award for children's literature Wednesday for her ability to express deep humanism in all her work.

Book Review: How Do You Read to a Rabbit? by Andrea Wayne von Königslöw (seattlepi.com)
Picture books promoting family literacy are a favorite of mine, and Andrea Wayne von Königslöw’s How Do You Read to a Rabbit? is particularly adorable and entertaining. Both written and authored by Königslöw, her watercolor and ink illustrations depict a pajama-clad child (who serves equally well as a boy or girl) attempting to read a bedtime story to an assortment of wild animals.

Derynoski School hosts guest readers (The Bristol Press)
SOUTHINGTON — Board of Education member Terri Carmody sat in a classroom at Derynoski Elementary School Thursday morning, reading the children’s book “Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire” to a group of first-graders gathered at her feet. She turned the book toward them every couple of pages so they could see the illustrations.
